Description
Designing for breastfeeding is very difficult due to the intimacy and complexity of the feeding process. This research and design project is part of the Flow project initiated by 4TU.
To understand the mother’s and infant’s experience and map the context that identifies relevant contextual factors that might shape or influence this experience, eight interviews were conducted with mothers, a midwife, and a lactation expert.
Based on the challenges and opportunities described above, we sought to redefine the role of breastfeeding data in communicating women's postpartum care. By having mothers re-engaged in two discussion sessions, we have come up with a data communication system to help mothers take the initiative in data interpretation and communication.
